[Sevren]
Azen told me not to do anything rash and just to wait. Yeah, fine, that's easy for him to say. His best friend wasn't just taken by a crazy, mad parrot. And this whole 'waiting' thing was making me explode. I didn't know if I should go dance (no fun if there was no Elsie to teach) or surf (no fun if Elsie wasn't there to laugh at me when I wipe out) or what. I just couldn't think of anything I could do without it reminding me of Elsie. This was so strange, I'd never been this alone before. I guess I had taken advantage of Elsie always kind of being there.
I jumped up from where I was laying in the sand and made an about face and headed towards the Central Dias. Maybe Azen or Hali had something I could do instead of sitting here. I'd tried countless times to figure out a plan to get to wherever Elsie was, but Azen had always stopped me, or they just plain didn't work. Me and planning never really got along. None of the birds would take me when I mentioned a blue parrot, the falcons scare me, and there was no other way to get across the water because I didn't know any sea creatures. Just great. I really hope Azen had something to help take my mind off this.....

[Kurt:]
"Hey Sevren." I walked towards him, wondering what he was doing. He was almost always with Elsie; I wonder where she is. "Where's Elsie?"

On impulse I was about to ask who this python was, but then I remebered. Azen had found him on the beach a little while back. I didn't know him very well, but he'd given me no reason to be mad at him now. But I couldn't for the life of me remember his name.
"I wish I knew...something happened to her but Azen told me not to worry about it now until we can figure something out." There wasn't a touch of resentment in my voice. I respected Azen like a parent I suppose. But I'd seen what Elsie's parents had done to her and I wondered if that classification was really accurate. Speaking of Elsie's parents, I wondered if anyone had told them that she was missing yet. Or if anyone else knew. Wah, I have a multi-track mind.

[Kurt:]
"Oh, sorry," I said, hoping I hadn't upset him. I tried to think of something else to say, but I couldn't. 'What could have happened to Elsie? Surely Sevren wouldn't let anything happen to her. . .'
"Azen'll be able to come up with something to help her." I looked out over the ocean, trying to imagine what possibly could have happened to her here; this was the safest place I'd ever been too.

Yeah, I'm sure he will too. But still, it was hard to watch her get carried off like that." I grimaced as memories resurfaced. "She was kidnapped by some queen from the inland. Azen tried really hard to save her but, it didn't work out." I could understand why Elsie went of her own accord with that parrot, but it still didn't make me like it.
I looked over at the guy and felt really awkward for not knowing his name. It was right on the tip of my tongue... "I just really hope she's okay..."

[Kurt:]
"She's tough; I'm sure she's fine." I shrugged, understanding why he was worried about her. They were never very far from each other; I was honestly surprised that they hadn't become mates yet.
//Ok, yeah, that sounds stupid. My brain is being stupid and not letting me word stuff the way I want too; sorry.//

//will you chill? You're fine///
[Sevren]
'Do I ask him his name or do I just pretend like I know it?' I didn't get much time to think on that (my short attention span probably wouldn't have allowed that anyway), for I picked up a smell wafting from one of the nearby stalls in the Central Dias market. I ran over to it and saw that it belonged to Aunt Chara, a really nice lady who baked cookies and made lemonade for all the kids here. She had brownies out today.
"Why hello there Sevren. My goodness, where's Elsie?" Her question made me stop dead. I never realized that if I felt really weird not having Elsie with me, I must look even weirder. I just shrugged my shoulders, not really wanting to respond. She seemed to get that, and I took one of the brownies she offered. Oh! and Kurt, how nice to see you again. Would you care for one too?" Kurt! That was the guy's name.

[Kurt:]
"Uhm, sure," I said, taking the brownie she offered me. "Thanks." I took a bite of the brownie; it wasn't bad. I'd always enjoyed getting treats from Aunt Chara when I was younger, and it felt kind of odd eating one now. I had always assumed she only gave the treats she made to little kids [well, younger than I was, anyway], so it kind of surprised me that she had offered me one. Maybe she was just being nice because she gave one to Sevren and didn't want to be rude. . .

I shoved at least half the brownie into my mouth and waved. "Thanks Aunt Clara," I ssaid, turning back toward the Dias.
"Oh not a problem, Sevren! You take care now, you hear?" I caught that she meant I was to take care of Elsie too. I just hoped I could. I wondered if Kurt would help me.
"Hey, Kurt, I said, stopping suddenly adn whipping around. "How'd you like to help me on a rescue mission? You're from the mainland, right?"

[Kurt:]
Sevren's question surprised me. "Uh, I think I am," I said. "What would we be doing?" I didn't think Azen would approve of us going on a 'rescure mission', especially since he told Sevren not to worry about it [and I'm pretty sure what he meant was 'stay on the Island and don't do anything stupid].
"Are you sure Azen would approve of this?"

"Would he approve of what?" I bit my lip as I heard Hali's voice. I turned around slowly, sure I was in trouble now. Hali was dressed in some black robe-like thing she called a kimono. She wasn't smiling, but she had this air about her...it made it so she didn't need to smile. Looking at her and feeling that kind of aura, you'd think she was one of the most harmless creatures ever. But I'd seen her half form, and it made me really really try not to get her mad.
"Um...well..I..." Shoot, I was caught now.
"Sevren, were you planning on going after Elsie?" She said in a chiding voice. All I coulld do was look at her guiltily. "Well, Azen's not here at the moment, and I'll say I didn't see anything...."
I couldn't believe it. She was actually going to let me? But there was something weird about all of this. "Where's Azen at?" She looked over her shoulder and raised a skeptic eyebrow. "Would you like to wait until he gets back and take it up with him?"
I shook my head vigorously. She then smiled a small smile at me and went back into the Dias. "Whew, close one," I said to my companion.

[Kurt:]
"Yeah. I don't think it's a good idea for us to go and disappear," I said. The fact that Azen wasn't around was strange; I wondered where he was, though obviously we weren't going to get an answer out of Hali.

I nodded, though the idea of staying put anymore really tore me apart. There was something else that worried me more though. "Where do you think Azen is?" I said, crossing my arms. From what I saw of him, he never had any inclination of leaving the island, just like the rest of us. So where was he, and how did he go without anyone noticing? There was somethng about this that irked me even more than that parrot woman.

"I don't know. Maybe he got kidnapped by some evil giant squid and it's holding him hostage," I said, chuckling. 'I hope he knows I'm kidding,' I thought, worried for a moment that Sevren might go and try to find a giant squid. I crossed my arms over my chest, wondering what had happened to Azen.

My stomach dropped. Aw man, I never thought of that! Azen must have been so tired from fighting parrot face that he conked out on the sand and something grabbed him! That had to be it! Well dang it, I'd already lost Elsie, I wasn't gonna lose him too! I quick dash toward the beach, ignoring Kurt (It was Kurt right? Yeah, Kurt) who shouted something behind me. Of course it wasn't until I hit the sand that I thought about the fact that if Azen hadn't fought this thing off, I probably had no chance.
I was about to yell out his name, when I saw something from the beach that made me forget everything. Impulsivly, I pointed at the large bridge and asked, "How long has that been there?" to......nobody. I still wasn't used to Elsie being gone yet. My shoulders dropped.
