I could tell I should probably dismiss it, but I refused to let it go. I'd just heard too many horror stories about falcons I guess. "Well, falcons can take different forms, y'know. You could 'a been one of them...." Nobody knew who the guy was, not even him. So who could rule out possibilities?
I turned my gaze back to the water and saw a long, dark, almost-snake-like shape moving not a foot from the bridge. I screamed so loud I thought my ears would pop and ran behind Kurt. "WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT???!!!"

I sighed for what seemed to be the thousandth time in the past three minutes. "If I was part falcon, I would know, okay?" I bit my tongue to keep myself from saying something I'd regret.
"WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT???!!!" I jumped as Sevren dove behind me. I hadn't seen anything; I looked around, trying to see what he was talking about.
"What do you mean? I didn't see anything."

"THat thing in the water. It was big it was scary it was movin' and ahh....." I said all of this incredibly quickly. Fear must have heightened my speech ability. THe water rippled a bit where that thing had been, but nothing came up from the surface. "Can ya see it now.....? Is it gone?" I had a firm hold of Kurt's shirt (//if he's not wearing one, disregard that//) and I stood rooted to the spot, waiting for whatever it was.

"Can ya see it now.....? Is it gone?" Sevren had a tight hold on my shirt, and I turned and pulled his hands from the material gently.
"Sevren, I don't see anything. It's fine; nothing's there." I turned back to the water, scanning the surface. "It was probably just a stick or some fish wondering what the heck the bridge was doing here," I said, trying to convince him (and myself) that there was nothing out there.

"Yeah....yeah, I guess you're probably right." My voice was shaking along with my body. "B-besides, I heard some people talking about a Sea Kingdom or whatever...it could have been just one of those guys. And even if it's not whatever-it-is probably doesn't want to eat us 'cause I really don't think I taste that good." My eyes widened at the thought.
I started walking again, keeping behind Kurt and letting out a squeal everytime the water rippled around us.

Every time Sevren squealed I jumped. After about five minutes of him squealing every time he thought he saw something, I whirled around to face him. "Will you chill out? There is nothing there, okay? It's just your imagination."
I sighed as I turned to resume walking. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw something move in the water. I jumped, not entirely sure that what I had seen was a fish or whatever I had been telling Sevren it was . . .

I saw Kurt jump and looked nervously in the direction he was facing. "What's up.....you're creeping me out....." I took a few steps toward the edge of the bridge where the water had moved, walking slowly so the bridge wouldn't move.
Suddenly I saw that huge shadow again and before I could even jump back, something broke through the surface. I guess it looked kinda like some kind of snake.....except.....it was blue. And big. REALLY big. Like as big around as a tree and at least twenty foot long, and its eyes were bigger than my head. It hissed, spraying water, and it's f*gs longer than I was and dripping with venom.
I turned to Kurt, very calmly, and pointed at it. "Is that thing gonna eat us?"

"Uhm, probably," I said, my voice squeaking. I backed away from the creature, stopping only when I hit the rail on the other side of the bridge. "Sevren, I think we should get out of here. . ."

I blinked a few times, then turned back toward the creature. Something weird was happening to me....it's like my body was too overcome with shock to be scared, so I was unusually calm. It's like when you get on a rollercoaster and you're too scared to scream.
Well, this was cool. Maybe I really had no fear in me? Oh....wait, nevermind. "Yeah, you're probably right." My voice jumped up an octive and I ran instinctively towards the island as fast as I could go, before thinking that I should have probably ran the other way.

I ran after Sevren, easily catching up to him. "Shouldn't we have gone the other way?" I asked, not sure why he had gone back towards the island. Well, we knew it was safe there, so maybe him going that way was a good thing . . .

I came to a stop, and felt Kurt run into me. I made a quick about-face, and looked up at him. "Um......yeah.......probably........but do YOU wanna go back there?" I could hear that thing give a roar; it evidently wasn't happy we got away.

"No, I don't. I wonder what that thing was," I said, looking back towards where the creature had been. I could see it as it went back underwater, its tail disappearing with a big splash.
I sighed. "Well, what are we going to do now?" I leaned against the railing, praying it wouldn't break and send me into the ocean. I definitly didn't want to be in the water with that thing around.

"That's a good question.......I don't know." I really hoped Elsie hadn't gotten eaten by that thing (however, I also really hoped that idiot parrot Lila had.
I slumped down to the ground and rested my chin on my hands. "Maybe we should just stay here like Azen said we should...." I sighed, not liking the idea of giving up. "I bet he wouldn't have any trouble getting past that thing." I mumbled, my mood abruptly sour.

I sighed. This kid needed to pick one emotion and stay with it. "Well, that's because he's Azen and he's a cobra and a viper and has magic. You don't have magic. Neither do I. So, we're both screwed when it comes to trying to get past the creepy sea-monster." I sat down across from him, trying to think of a way to cheer him up. I thought about pushing him into the water, but that would probably scare the h**l out of him right now; I know it would scare me.
"We could go swim on the other side of the island?"

Azen had told me about his weird lineage a few times before, but I was surprised that Kurt knew of it. Azen was pretty shy for a serpent. "Yeah, I guess........hey, Kurt," I addressed him as I just thought of something, ".....how much do you know about Azen? I mean, I know he's half-cobra, but I never found out how he got that scar on his back. Did he tell you anything?" I was raised a dancer, so I was irresistably drawn to gossip. I was afraid Azen might get me for prying, but hey, he wasn't here!
I perked up when he mentioned swimming. "Or we could steal one of Azen's windboards...." I said with a gleam in my eye. I never considered the fact that I had no idea how to ride one but......
