 In the City, cats roam as "free" as the humans. At Least, as long as they aren't caught. Four cats rules the majority of the City, and their names are Ignis, the tom who hunts well at night, Glacies, the she-cat who isn't afraid to swim, Ventus, the tom who can run and jump the best, and Caliga, the she-cat who is strong yet kind. When a newcomer visits each of these cats, he tells them of a time past, when the City did not exist and forest cats ruled the lands. He told them of the Way, a code set down by ancestors of great times. And he told them about the Nex Aduro, their deceased ancestors. He explained how the leaders of the forest cats received nine lives from their ancestors, by visiting a mystical item deep underground. When the newcomer had finished telling his tale, he warned the cats. "A time of darkness approaches. One by one you will all fall. You must create a gang, with you each leading them to victory." The cats all agreed with the newcomer, and began to recruit others. However, not one of the four knew about the other, and their attempts to create a gang. When they find out, tensions will rise, and the cats must decide to live together with set boundaries, or fight each other to the death.
