Human form: Anar has shaggy brown and black hair that sometimes hangs in front of his dark brown eyes. His eyes a very dark brown almost black. He has dark tan skin and he is very skinny from being under fed by his former master Rodan. So all of his clothes are a little too big for him. He normally wears a pair of baggy brown breeches, with a green poet shirt that looks too big for him. On his feet, he wears a pair of brown leather boots that go over the bottom of his breeches so he does not trip on them. He wears a little brown woven leather belt with three small pouches hanging from it. In these pouches, he has items that he likes to keep. He also has a wooden flute hanging by a fine green tassel. This flute was given to him by Carah as a gift. Around his neck, he wears a tan leather strap with a large acorn on it. This was his first thing he had collected with Carah on their night walks.
Animal form: ((pic is down below)) Anar is small for a Sugar Glider, but that is only because he is still a young child. He is mostly grey and white colored except for the dark gray and black streaks that trail down his back and arms. His long tail starts a pale gray colored and it slowly turns into a fark black/ brown at the end. When he makes deliveries, most of them being small bottles, he wears a little leather back pouch that holds the small glass bottles securely.
History: ((Sorry that his history blended into an RP, but I was just so into the charrie and his story that it kind of just happened. Also I was kind of bored and I like the idea of having a long history. XP))
Anar and his parent’s were a type of nomad and gypsy. They traveled in a simple wooden cart with a trap over the top of it, two small horses pulled it along. In that cart they slept, ate and told stories. They traveled all of the animal kingdom trying to earn a decent living. Anar’s father, Stal, played music. Stal played a wooden flute, a harp, and a type of hand made drum. While his father played an instrument his mother, Aseldu made beautiful clothing, jewelry and some art, like dream catchers. Anar on the other hand did gymnastics of some sorts, he would do flips, jumps, and hand stands to try to please crowds. Anar never had the gift of art like his mother, but he did learn to play some different wooden flutes from his father. This was the life he lived and only wished it would stay that way. Only it did not and his parents faded into his memories.
Anar was awoken by the yelling of his father. Anar’s mother grabbed onto him and held him tightly. Stal had gotten out of the wagon and saw someone lurking near their wagon and went to see who it was and was attacked by several thieves from reptile kingdom. It appeared that they had gotten too close to the boarder. Stal did not even stand a chance when it came to someone with a weapon, but he did his best to protect the wagon with his family hidden inside of it. He tried to make it to the wagon, but he was cut down by two men. Aseldu held Anar tight not wanting to let him go. The thieves tore open the wagon and Aseldu and Anar out of the wagon. “Run Anar!” His mother cried when she was torn away from his small form. Anar did not even hesitate and he turned into his small squirrel form and was about to scurry off when one of the thieves grabbed him by the tail and trapped him in his hand. Aseldu stamped down on the foot of the thief that held her by the arms and was able to get out of his grasp, but it only made things worse. She started to run, but one of the men caught her and by accident stabbed her in the stomach. Anar was still in his squirrel form squeaking and squirming trying to get out of the man’s grasp, but it was no use.
The thieves took everything from the wagon and stuffed them into bags. They put Anar into a little wooden cage and was kept by one of the men on their belt. They took him over the mammal boarder and was brought to one of the markets. The thieves sold him to a merchant and he was put on the market. Anar was sold to a man by the name of Rodan who traveled through out the kingdoms, Anar was given to this man’s daughter as a type of pet. From then on Anar was kept in the cage most of the time, since they feared he would run if let out. So Anar was never let out of the cramped cage and was fed very little. When Anar was ever let out it was mostly to work for Rodan and to please his daughter. After a year of so Anar became sick and he started to become a burden to the man and his family. Slowly Anar grew sicker and sicker as they travel.
Finally the man and his family stopped in the mammal kingdom and went to the waterfall town. They brought Anar to one of the local healers, but he could not determine what was wrong with Anar. Therefore, the man suggested a woman who lived just out side of town on the far side of the cave. “She’s rather good at what she does, but I worn you she’s an odd one is.” The man told Rodan. “Some say she’s cursed and will kill anyone who looks into her eyes.” Rodan rolled his eyes at the healer’s words and went to find this woman. Rodan made his way through the small maze of buildings until he made it to the edge of town and spotted the quite little hovel. He went to the door and knocked, a moment later a rather light voice came from behind the door. “Who’s there?” The voice asked softly. “I have someone who is quite ill, I was told you were the person I should see.” Rodan said loudly so he could be heard from behind the door. “No need to shout dear sir.” The voice replied. The door opened slightly and a pale woman answered the door. Rodan shivered and went stiff when he saw the woman. Her pale skin was covered with black symbols and her milky eyes stared blankly at Rodan.
Rodan was speechless as he looked at the woman. “Well come on in.” She said giving Rodan a cheerful smile. Slowly Rodan walked inside with Anar’s cage in hand. The woman closed the door and ran her hand against the wall to find her way to the end of the small entryway. Rodan watched with somewhat interest, but mostly fear. “You…you are-” Rodan was cut off by the woman. “Blind? Yes…I am.” She said softly. “Now if you would please follow me.” She said smoothly before he could ask any more questions. She made her way to a small bedroom with a bedroll on the floor under a small window. “Please put them here.” She said softly gesturing to the bedroll on the floor. “Uh Miss…” Rodan started to say before the woman spoke again. “Carah…” She said softly as she walked over to a small water basin and a bowl on a table near the bed. “Miss Carah.” He said softly. “You see…this person is stuck in his animal form.” He said looking at the cadge in his hands. Anar was laying at the bottom of the cage motionless, only his sides moved slightly as he breathed. Carah was cleaning her hand when Rodan said this. She stopped for a moment then continued. “That’s no problem…” She said smoothly and dried her hands off on her brown apron that was tied around her waist. Rodan frowned at what Carah had said. “What do you mean it’s not a problem?” He asked with some shock in his voice. Carah turned around, still drying her hands with her apron, and gave a faint smile. “I’ve dealt with this sort of thing before.” She said smoothly walking into the next room.
She returned with a small vial filled with a pale blue liquid in her right hand. “What kind of animal is this patient?” She asked sitting down next to the bedroll. Rodan frowned. “A type of squirrel…one that I am not familiar with.” He said smoothly and opened the cage. Carah heard Rodan open something. “A cage?” She asked raising her brows slightly. Rodan ignored Carah’s question, carefully lifted Anar’s frail form out and held him out to Carah. Carah reached out and very carefully took the little squirrel’s body in her hands and placed him on the bedroll. “Flying squirrel…” She said softly after placing Anar on the rough cloth. “A what?” Rodan said with a frown. “Flying squirrel.” Carah repeated while opening the vial with delicate fingers. ”And how would you know that?” Rodan asked not believing what the woman said. “ Flying squirrel’s have the extra skin on their sides that they use to glide from trees.” She said softly. When she opened the vial a strange smell filled the room. Carah very carefully picked Anar up and held him in her left hand. “If you don’t mind would you hold open his mouth slightly?” She asked looking up at Rodan. Rodan rolled his eyes and did so. Very carefully Carah felt for his mouth and when she found it she put one drop of liquid in her hand next to his mouth. Some of the liquid trailed into Anar’s mouth. Carah put Anar on the bed and grabbed the cork from her lap and closed the vial. In only a matter of seconds Anar was in his human form on the bed. “There.” Carah said proudly. Rodan just stared in amazement at what he had just seen. “How did you do that?” Rodan asked in awe.
Carah put the vial in the pocket of her apron and gave a small shrug. “It’s just something I learned.” She said smoothly when she reached out to touch the flying squirrel boy. She felt his forehead and frowned and put a hand to his chest. She was silent for awhile before standing up and going to the next door room again. She came back with a small cloth and a few different bottles of things. She set them down next to the bedroll and took the cloth over to the water basin and got it wet. “ Sir…what is it you are doing with this child?” She asked with a hint of curiosity in her voice. Rodan stared at the woman for a moment before speaking. “He’s a slave well more like a pet for my daughter to be exact.” Carah froze for a moment as she listened to this man. “A slave?” She repeated softly to herself. Rodan frowned. “I should have never kept him. He is too much of a nuisance.” Rodan growled. Carah paused for a moment and turned around to stare in the direction to him. “Let me buy him…” She said softly. “What?!” Rodan asked in shock. “You just said yourself that you wish you didn’t keep him. So let me buy him from you.” She said in a more firm tone. Rodan gave a small snort and a laugh then thought for a moment. “Fine.” He said in a rather bitter voice.
Carah gave Rodan the money he asked for and kept Anar. Carah felt pitied for him a knew how it felt to be with out a family. Carah took care of him until he was well enough to walk. When Anar awoke to find this woman next to him he didn’t understand what was going on and panicked a little. Carah calmed him down and explained to him what she did. From then on out Anar lived with Carah, not as a slave or a pet, but a normal person. Carah taught him to read and write a little. Carah sometime brought him along when she went on her night walks to pick plants and herbs, but Anar’s main job was to deliver her medical items to houses and people. Anar also read some books for her since she could not read the books that were not made special for her. In a way, Carah almost became a new mother for Anar. Carah bought him clothes, toys, and other things with what little money she had. She also gave him allowance when she had enough. Anar could not help but feel he was loved once again.
