He shook his head. "No it was only a...buiness propositon..." He said with a small smirk. "I went to find a possible recruit but it turned out they were not as good as they said." He said with a small irritated sigh. "It was huge waste of time." He growled softly.

"I understand," I said quietly. Personally, I was glad he was back. Lila was not fit to rule the Imperial. I had gotten in fights with both Shunji and jaydn under her rule, even though we were on the same side.

Voren nodded and let go of the chain and inspected one of his rings. "Kae...come here for a moment..." He said softly as he twisted the ring around hi finger.

He took off the ring and looked at it. It was gold with a deep black onyx stone placed in the center. He took one of Kae's hand and placed it in her palm and closed her fingers over it. "Here...this is a sign of my trust..." He said smoothly and took his hands away from hers.

I was taken aback as he closed my fingers around the ring. I tightened my grip on the cold stone he had given me. A horrible thought struck me. "Why are you giving me this?" I asked.

Voren smirked and leaned back in chair. "I just told you...it's a sign of my trust." He said smoothly. Strand of his loose fiery hair fell close to his deep brown eyes. "Don't you want me to trust you Kae?" He asked his eyes watched her closely.
