//He's in the Dancer's Nest.//
Jaydn sat on the edge of the stage and ran his hand through his sweat-soaked hair. He leaned forward and dropped his head into his hands, trying to catch his breath.
When he'd woken up this morning, nearly everyone had been gone. He'd been dancing for hours; much longer than he had originally intended too. He could see that the sun was setting, turning the sky pink and orange.

"Well, what the heck are you doing here?" A cobra in the dancer's nest this late? Come to think of it, last I checked, I was the only cobra on this island. There were quite a few other snakes, but no cobras. The last time I'd ever even seen another cobra was way back when.....
I quickly pushed the thought out of my head. "How did you get here anyway?" There were so few serpent newcomers to the island (because they can't fly) that whenever one did he or she usually stuck with whatever brought them here. But he was alone.
I don't know why, but my magic seems to be warning me about him. My hood feels like it's going to spring out of my back. I sincerely hope he didn't come by falcon, or I'm not sure what I'll have to do......

"What do you mean, 'how did I get here'? I live here!" Jaydn turned his head towards the newcomer. He glared at the guy, whom he'd never seen before. "If anyone should be asking what another is doing here, it should be me asking you," he spat.
One of the first things that he had noticed was that the guy had red eyes like he did, only WAY brighter. His black hair contrasted greatly with the intesity of his eyes. "Are you a cobra?" Jaydn asked before he could stop himself. 'I'm an idiot.'

"Um, last I checked I was, but I'll get back to you on that" I had to stop myself from adding if you live on the end. Anhamirak's magic was dying to leap from me and torment this guy. I felt the skin of my back quiver from the strain of holding my hood back.
It made no sense to me. Well, it did, partly I suppose, seeing as Anhamirak's magic is very restless and like to be kept moving. I was hoping to dance to let some of it out, but something told me letting it loose with this guy around wouldn't be pretty. But to it's own kind? Did this snake even have any magic?
I shook my head a little, the force of keeping the magic back taking a toll on me. If you really live here, how did you get to Outcast Island? Did an avian or a...falcon...carry you?" I couldn't stop the pauses in my voice. But, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to kill one of the very few cobras I'd heard about, never mind met

[Jaydn:]
Was this guy insane?! What did he mean 'Outcast Island'? I'd never even heard of the place. I took a deep breath before saying, "What do you mean 'Outcast Island'? I don't even know what that is. I don't know where you think you are, but in reality, you're in the Dancer's Nest in the Reptile Kingdom." I lifted my head from my hands as I sat up, closing my eyes for a moment as a wave of dizziness threatened to knock me over. Yeah, I'm definitly never dancing for more than five hours on end again.
I reopened my eyes slowly, lest the feeling come back. I wiped the sweat off of my brow so it wouldn't run into my eyes; salt hurts. "So...how did you get here?" I asked, leaning back on my hands.

"Reptile....what?" While what he said completely confused me, I couldn't help but notice how tired he was. If he's that worn out by dancing, he can't have hardly any magic. I wonder...did he even have enough to change? Was he not a cobra after all?
But, I figured that finding out where I was was more of a "top" priority. I turned my back to him toward the entrance to see if the warm sun and beaches of my home were there, and instantly regretted it. Now I would get questions about the scar.

//Neither is Jaydn. Lol. >_<// [Jaydn:]
"The Reptile Kingdom...you've seriously never heard of it?" I said, slightly amused. This guy had never heard of where he was living. How idiodic can you get? I'd understand him not knowing about some of the other Kingdoms, but the one he lived in? Seriously! This guy must be either insane, or...insane.
As he turned around, my mouth dropped as I saw the huge scar on his back and I exhaled sharply, forgetting what I was going to say. Holy crap. His scar was huge; it was, literally, all over his back. How did he even get something that horrible?! "What the heck did you do to your back?" I blurted, forgetting everything else.

Rude much? I thought. "Never mind," I spoke aloud, walking hastily towards the entrance. I probabvly wouldn't have minded if he hadn't been the eighty-sixth person to ask me that.
Looking out of the nest, I saw that the cobra was right. THe place was beautiful, I suppose, to someone from here. The place was absolutely covered in sand, not too much unlike the island beach. But there was one difference that left me horrified.
There was no ocean.
No ocean meant no windsurfing, and no windsurfing meant I wouldn't know what to do for more than half my day.
I turned to the kid again, in total shock. Really, he wasn't a kid, he looked around 18 or so. But, in my eyes anyway, he's a kid. "Where the heck's the ocean?!"

I glared at his back as he exited the Nest. I stood up to follow him, though, once again, I moved to quickly and made myself dizzy. 'Maybe I'll just sit back down,' I thought, sinking slowly to the floor of the Nest and leaning against the stage. I dropped my head onto my knees while supressing the urge to throw up.
"Where the heck's the ocean?!"
When he spoke, I looked up at him, my brow furrowing. "You mean the huge thing that looks like an over-sized pond with salt, right?" I said. I'd only seen [what I thought was] the ocean once; there weren't any bodies of water even remotely close to that size around here. "There aren't any bodies of water like that around here, if that's what you're wondering," I said.

No ocean......? "Then.....I'm really not where I'm supposed to be...." I whispered, not knowing if he heard or not.
If I wasn't on the island.......I shuddered as horrible thoughts leaped into my head. If I wasn't on the island, that fragile peace might be broken. The people didn't disagree very often, but when they did, it was up to me or Hali to take care of things. Hali had the advantage of wings, so I'm sure she could handle things all right but.......
I shook my head. That island was my home. THose people were my family. If I wasn't there I.............I was just a freak with cobra eyes and white scales. I didn't fit in anywhere but there.
So...how the heck did I get here? And, so much more importantly, how was I to get back?
Between the kid's prescence (sp) and finding out I was away from home, I lost hold on the magic. Before I could stop it, a familiar tearing sensation consumed my back and I felt the hood leap out, like it was hungry for the air.

[Jaydn:]
"You're in the Reptile Kingdom...of course you're where you're supposed to be. If a snake went anywhere else you'd probably be killed," I said, not quite sure why the guy was freaking out over such a minor thing.
I watched as he shudderd, various emotions flicking across his face. I couldn't keep my mouth from dropping again (even though my head was horizontal) as a white cobra's hood lept from his back. "Who are you?" I asked, my eyes widening in surprise and horror. This guy wasn't going to attack me, was he? I was in no condition to fight...I'd be dead before I hit the ground...

"You saw the hood and you still don't get it? You're not too quick, are you?" I really didn't mean to be so blunt to the kid, but hey, I had bigger things to worry about than his feelings.
I heaved a big sigh and tried to calm the spiraling magic down. I felt the hood coil back in and melt into my back as the skin patched it self up, no doubt leaving a totally new scar with a different pattern.
"Look I... I began to say as I walked towards him, and saw that he was rigid with fear. "I'm not going to hurt you," I snapped, maybe unintentionally showing some of my cobra fangs. "Altohugh the magic is begging me otherwise..." I muttered under my breath. "But I have no idea how I got here....and I really need to get back home. I had no idea how I would start that escapade, but I couldn't stay here, and the magic would guide me back. "Which way's the ocean?" I demanded in a hard tone, now standing over him.

[Jaydn:]
"I don't know. I've only seen it once, if it was even the real ocean. I was only three or four. I don't really like water," I said. 'Since I nearly drowned the last time I was near it,' I added silently, shuddering slightly at the memory. I looked up at him, not even bothering to lift my head. It was sort of uncomfortable, but at this point I didn't really care.
"I have no idea what, or where, 'Outcast Island' is, so I really can't help you with that." I was still trying to figure out who this guy was; obviously he was a cobra of some sort, but his scales had been white. Turning my head so I was looking at my legs, I swallowed hard, still feeling unsteady. Maybe I caught something...? I'd never felt this bad after dancing before...what the heck was wrong with me?

I heaved another sigh. Just great. Now what was I to do? I never really liked sand; it was hot, rough, irritatiing, and it got freaking everywhere. I'd only tolerated sand because there was always water nearby to wash off in.
I sat down next to the kid. "Well, since I obviously can't go anywhere, I guess there's nothing left to do but stay. I looked over at him. What's your name, kid? I noticed he was looking pretty worse for wear. "Are you alright? I'm.......Azen, by the way." I knew Anjay probably would have laughed at my shyness, and probably throw in a comment saying serpents didn't act that way. But, thinking about Anjay always made it worse.......

I turned my head so I was looking Azen. "Jaydn," I said. "And I'm not a freaking kid. I'm eighteen." After considering his question, I still wasn't sure of the answer. I sighed slightly before responding. "I should be fine...I've never gotten this worn out from dancing before." I scowled at nothing in particular, wondering why the heck my body decided to be weak now. Why couldn't it have done that, like, last week?
After a moment, something occured to me. This guy, Azen, was a white cobra. I'd never heard of that happening before; cobras were always black. Maybe he was albino or something. I would've asked why, but my head was throbbing and I didn't feel like puking on the guy...wonderful first impression that would make...and, actually, this probably wasn't much better. But, hey...this is better than throwing up by a long shot.
